I started Rake with my co-founder/CTO Robert Traghetto. Together Robert and I launched a job search management platform called Job Reignger. Conceptually it was a mash up of the popular apps Pocket and Trello. We created the word “Reignger” and defined it as someone who dominates or is total control of their job search.
Through early user tested we discovered that the work Reignger was too hard to pronounce and even spell. When discussing what the app did, it was clear, a simpler work that conveyed it value was Rake! So, we change our name to simply Rake.
