Acquisitions were core to Thomson Reuters (TR) growth strategy, 60 deals over a two-year span totaling more than $3 billion. Reported directly to Global CTO and Chief Enterprise Architect. Success in this newly created role required the ability to work with and influence parties across all departments on a global scale. In addition to working on 12 deals and $1.5 billion in transactions, accomplishments included:
• Developed and rolled out company’s first global Technology M&A framework.
• Performed and coordinated consistent technology evaluations and due diligence activities spanning all business units (Finance and Risk, Legal, Tax and Accounting, IP & Science) on a global scale; managed it on a day to day basis.
• Ensured proper assessment of target, including: technology architecture, content, infrastructure, business systems, security, disaster recovery, business continuity, open source, datacenter and personnel/staff.
• Delivered reliable financial estimates for the integration of acquired technologies.
• Identified potentially non-compliant applications with architecture standards and ensure alignment to the enterprise target architecture as well as recommendations for platform integration into prevailing TR standard platforms.
• Communicated to TR executive leadership timely updates on deal flow and overall governance of integration efforts.
